Salary and academic qualificatons

I started my career in 1978 when I was a technician trainee. I have learned that to advance my career, I must have academic qualifications. To advance my salary, I must have more qualifications. So I took the academic route and become a Qualified Engineer in 1988 as a CEng. My first nomination institution was in fact the Institution of Energy as energy was very important in UK at that time.

Are you willing to invest in yourself and become an engineer as a career. It does not guarantee to be a well paid job but most of the time I am. It does not warrant to be an interesting job but it is always interesting to me. Now you have to think if you really want to pay for the price to become an engineer.

My career as an Engineer

I have 7 brothers and 3 sisters. One is an electrical engineer, one civil engineer, one building engineer and I left with no choice but to become a mechanical/building services engineer. I was then determined to become a professional enigneer in 1978 after my seond attmept for the Sceondary School exams was not too good either.
